Happy Father’s Day to my dearest Dad

Dad,

I’m not sure if you’re anywhere near,
But here’s some things you missed this year.
We’re a i-phone family, the Dean girls,
With not one, but two of those cell phone pearls.

Deb is selling houses so fast,
Isabel’s gone to college at last.
Mom still has Korbel on a farm,
But she’d really like another barn.

And me, not much changed since last time,
Another day, another dime.
Except for the fact that I am envious Dad,
Of all the great father’s days we once had.

I would really like to be spending this one too.
Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.
Whether I working or writing, or just at home.
I really wish I could pick up the phone.

I assume once again,
Where you are.
You hear my words from afar.
I love you and miss you and all that Jazz.
Cause a better dad, never was had.

Love, Love, Love,
Your daughter
Lara
